freedom. hope. love.

welcome to the Kingdom House family

In the spring of 2013 Josh & Melissa Settles followed the heart of Daddy God to the center of Shelbyville, KY.  God has birthed a dream within them to create a church family that will change eternity.  At the Kingdom House, everything revolves around the desire to “expand HIS kingdom”.  Our desire is to create an atmosphere of freedom, hope, and love.  A culture of freedom welcomes everyone to be unique and express themselves.  A mindset of hope believes that healing, wholeness, restoration, and a supernatural future are available to all.  There is an expectation that all will be equipped with the love of Jesus to change lives.  After two years of ministry on Washington Street God opened up an amazing building on Main Street.

Services are held at:

   Our Mission & Vision

The vision of the house is to “expand His kingdom” by creating an atmosphere of freedom, hope, and love.  We believe in releasing a generation to use their talents for a lifestyle of supernatural ministry.  Lives will be transformed by the renewing of the mind.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry and release them for a supernatural lifestyle.  The following four couple make up the Eldership Team at Kingdom Hou

How Do I Meet People?

Kingdom House is not a place for spectators. It is a place for family. In the Bible God is referred to as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  We value intergenerational relationships and understand the importance of the generation of the Lord being unified.  Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of the house.

Eyes In the Back of My Head

I’m a forward looking, full-steam ahead, kinda dreamer. I’m looking forward to dinner and a show on Friday evening with the always wonderful Mrs. Settles. I am anticipating the one year celebration service at kingdom house with the Clemons from the ARK in Florence, AL. I’m declaring and dreaming for the day when we are debt free.
In this state of forward looking I am thankful for my wife who chronicles our journey of life with pictures. It helps me to slow down and remember all the amazing things that God has done.  It revives me. For me photographs are like taking the rubber stopper out of the bottom of a piggy bank. It reassures the memories that time attempts to rob. As I reflect and recall memories I partake of a medicinal prescription of the goodness of God. You see there is an unbreakable ribbon of Gods grace and love that is woven into our weeks, months, and years.

My dad used to say that he had eyes in the back of his head… And I’m still trying to figure out how he knew what Andy and I were doing.
I’m leanring that I need to have eyes in the back of my head. How often do you slow down to smell the roses? Or reflect on all that God has done over the years. Our obstacles in this journey seem unsurmountsble if we fail to acknowledge that Gods faithfulness has taken us past more treacherous terrain that what lies ahead.
I can hear Naomi signing… “You can’t tell me God won’t make a way for you,”
Doctors said that Connor wouldn’t like to read… His mercy endures forever. (Con loves to read)
Educational professionals said Connor would likely repeat Kindegarten…. His mercy endures forever. (Con is on a clear path to 1st grade)
Therapist said Connor would likely be in speech therapy until he graduated high school… His mercy endures forever. (Con tested out of speech therapy at 5 1/2 years old)
I will continue to dream for things that are much more magnificent and eternal than my hands can accomplish. But, as I press on with fervency may I honor the Sabbath, may I rest, may I count my many blessings, may I have a complete and mature view of time.
Send me your thoughts, questions, and comments…
Love y’all
